SHIVER- Soul Wrenching Rock.
It is rare to find an up and coming band unwilling to bend to passing trends in the music industry, a band that sticks to its guns while cranking out high powered rock music with strong vocals, sophisticated melodies, tasty guitar licks, and a killer bass and drums foundation.
SHIVER is doing just that.
The band hails from Rhode Island and has just released Smooth Me Out, an 11-song CD of original compositions which gives a sampling of the band's songwriting and musicianship.
Shiver is a quartet consisting of Matt Wunsch on guitar, lap steel and vocals, Ed Fishell on guitar and vocals, Steve Dillon on bass, and Bill Lawing on drums.
Formed in early 2001, the band is young but not without experience. Wunsch and Fishell have toured extensively as an acoustic duo and have converted their chemistry and energy into an electric project with the help of Dillon and Lawing.
The Shiver sound is roots-guitar-rock oriented, to be sure, but the band doesn't wear its influences on its hat. They are taking an original tack.
So what is the vision for Shiver? The band is touring regionally behind its vanity label CD Smooth Me Out, and is currently negotiating distribution for the project and interviewing for management assistance.

SHIVER….. A little personal information we'd like to pass on.
Eddie: Is a master landscaper and frenetic guitarist who dabbles in the occult.
He recently stated he has "lost his flair for ice cream." Absolut and soda, please.
Bill: Works during the day at the pipe shop selling trinkets to URI girls.
We rehearse in his shed where the smell of cat shit is pleasantly overwhelming. Captain Morgan.
Steve: A carpenter and fisherman during the day, Stevie Dee plays the bass until his
fingers bleed, and is a competitor on the links. That's unfortunate for the rest of us. Jack and
Coke.
Matt: Plays guitar left-handed and upside down. Mild-mannered reporter during the day,
the smell of kitty methane drives him to say "That's the stupidest fucking thing I ever heard."
Merlot.
